Have you ever worked with an outside sales company?

I'm considering working with an outside sales company with technology selling experience.

They charge 3,500 (+3% of sale) per month for 1 sales manager, and 2 sales associates working 3 days per week. They research there own leads or you can send them over leads.

What do you think? Anyone ever done anything like this?

I mean if they can sell 5 sites at 2K a piece per month seems like a decent deal to me....

I'd love to hear some feedback from people that have worked with this type of a company.

Not sure I understand the rates. They are charging $3500/month? Or 3% of sales they bring in? 5x2k-3500=6500 or 45% to them, not 3%.

If it's 3% and they produce - that's insanely great. If it's 45% of sales, that's considerable overhead. It still may be worth it if you suck at marketing, and you can still produce 2k sites for $1100 profitably...

I would work with a provision based system. 3% isn't enough to motivate them to hire quality sales staff. That motivates them to hire some school kids that knows nothing about customer care or selling.

If I understand it: They charge 3500 PLUS 3%, right?

So, if they sell 5 sites at 2000 each, that's 3800 for the month. 10,000 minus 3800 equals 6200. 6200 divided by 5 is 1240.

What if they sell 0? You still pay them 3500?

sounds interesting, please pm more info.

the fees are high ($3500/month) if there is not guarantee of success. for that amount you can hire sales people directly imho.
