Looking to add personal ads....any ideas?

I wouldn't want to program it, something along the lines of a yahoo club, a nice forum, etc. Being able to private message would be a must. I'm just wondering if there are any customizable freebies out there like Yahoo Clubs that would be designed towards personal ads.

I'm also looking to add forums to my site. Right now, Ezboard.com is on the top of my list. Costs about $30 every 6 months. Any other suggestions on this would be helpful also.

If you're willing to pay, vBulletin is well worth your purchase. It's $85 for a one-year lease for $160 for life time license which includes one year of free updates.

yeah, I like vBulletin. But I think I'm going to use a "free" system till I get a good user base. This thing might not pick up like I want. Thx for the advice though, vBulletin is a nice board.

If you can afford it, I don't see the logic in holding off in purchasing vB... it seems to me getting it from the beginning would help you get a userbase, not the other way around.

do I have $80? Yes. Do I have $80 to spend on something that may never catch on? No. I've got to be realistic here. I've had boards with 250 posts a week, and boards with 2 posts a week. Not flaming you, just letting you know my thoughts behind this.

One problem with moving from another Fourm software package to another one is loosing all your data, now I know that VB has some input options etc... but to be honest with you, I personally feel that if you are going to do a forum, do it right, from the start, get VB

I did, and although at the moment it's not overloaded with posts, I know that if I keep with it it will be a success.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
