Competitions

Hi all, I have a games website and I want to make it seem different from a normal games website with more to do and to stand out to get people to come back. I would like to make some competitions to create more of a sense of community but the problem is that I have a very low budget and can't give away much money for competitions and that limits my ideas. I can't think of any competitions and I thought maybe some of you guys may have some ideas. Any suggestions will help I just need some ideas!

How about setting up an highscores list for the games? They'd give the users more motivation to play the games, because they're competing against other users on your site.

Thanks for that cpvr I think I might use that idea and make a hiscores page to get people competing for the top spot!

If anyone else has some suggestions please post them!!

How about most points overall scored throughout all games. For example, someone might have been on your site for x years and chalked up millions of points playing all the various games.

Obviously people will want to head that list too. You could also offer a head to head challenge match for users to win ranking points where they play the same game and the person with the highest score when both have finished their games gets ranking points. The loser would lose points and a league table could also be created for that. For example, challenges faced, challenges won, lost, drawn, points, etc.

Sorry about that. We've had a few problems with our server but we have fixed the problem. Hope it works for you now . Thanks for another great idea squire I shall note it down.

Any more ideas? I've started work on the hiscores page and will be online in a couple more days. Thanks for the ideas.
