    access system functions

    Hi all,
I'm currently working on some kind of userarea where customers can change passwords for their email accounts (thats what i want to have in the end). I'm just wondering what the best (or a possible) way to acomplish this would be.
I'm also thinking of allowing users to add their own aliases to the sendmail subsystem or even create new accounts over a web interface.
Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea how to get started.
    Any ideas are welcome.

I think you could use the fwrite command to write to alias files etc.

Take a look at these funtions

    http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.fwrite.php
    http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.fread.php
    http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.fopen.php
    http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.fclose.php

I would be careful doing this, maybe have the script backup the affected files before changes are being made, so you can restore the original files in case something goes wrong.

To add new e-mail accounts, change passwords and so on you would need the system command:

    http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.system.php

Hope this helps you in the right direction.
