    google.com for google

    av.com for av

    lycos.com for lycos

It takes all of 5 minutes, don't risk using an auto submitter. Do it manually for all major engines.

Yahoo! can be a pain to get in without paying..but keep trying if you aren't in a hurry. I definately agree with aspen on the manual submission.

So, you can submit to major search engines without having to pay?

My JS instructor used Netsolutions (I think) for $30 and he still hasn't shown up on search engines.

That sounds like the Inktomi inclusion - not all search engines. Yes you can submit to many of the for free still.. like google and Altavista or Lycos and ODP/Dmoz just pull up the se and look for the Add URL statement (usually at the bottom of the home page)
