    obj.fireEvent() equiv in Gecko?

    I thought I knew how to do this, but apparently I don't (been to long since my hardcore DHTML days)

    Basically like the title says, is there a Gecko equivalent to IE's fireEvent method? Creating and dispatching events through Gecko's Event Interface is not the solution I need. I combed the DOM Reference and didn't find what I was looking for, so perhaps a custom solution is the answer.

    Heck, if I could even drum up a solution to tack this onto the HTMLElement prototype that would be even better.
