    Dell now accepts PayPal

Dell have now added paypal as a payment option - any thoughts? I can't think of any other 'major' etailers who accept paypal, so could this be the start of widespread industry acceptance?

Is this true? Very annoying if it is.

This is great news either way, I am sure they will see a significant spike in sales.

This just may be a business partnership between Dell and Paypal.

Paypal needs big coperations to use them .... and Dell wants to diversify its services

Yep it is true. I've contacted them, they told they are shortly providing same facility to few other countries soon. I guess their next target is UK.

    only because of VAT

Why would they see a spike in sales because they now offer a PayPal option? With something as substantial as a computer purchase I'd be more likely to use my regular credit/debit card over my PayPal account.

Because you don't account for a large chunk of Dell's business

Besides, it doesn't have to be substantial, you could be buying accessories for example

Neither does anyone using Paypal. You think a company buying 500 desktops is going to pay with a Paypal account? That's the largest chunk of their business, not some kid buying an Inspiron laptop.
