Opening a new browser window in php

I have a form and upon submit I validate several fields in the form and, if valid, want to open a new web page by going to a location that those fields represent. Sort of like going to a hyperlink using target="_BLANK", leaving my current page intact.

I've been able to validate and build my new target but, when I use the Header/Location technique the new page opens in the existing window... I can't find the technique to open it as a new window.

Can anyone point to me a quick example of how to do this in php? Or do I need to revert to javascript to do something like this?
