    ok, new guy here. Looking for a little help.

    Im following the guide lines from the Build your own database driven website, and iv run into a problem. Somthing seems to be wrong with my instalation. (im running Windows XP home) On start up I recieve the follow error:

    PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'c:\php\ext\php_mysql.dll' - the specific module could not be found.

    the php_mysql.dll is in the ext directory,

    so when I tried to put together the joke database page, I get the following:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\jokepage.php on line 23

    here is the code generating that error.

    // Connect to the database server
    $dbcnx = mysql_connect('localhost', 'root', 'mypasswrd');
    if (!$dbcnx) {
    exit('<p>Unable to connect to the ' .
    'database server at this time.</p>');
    }

    of course I have the correct password used instead of "mypasswd."

    So if anyone can tell me what I did wrong or point me in the right direction, that would be cool.

    Make sure you've copied libmysql.dll from the PHP directory to your c:\WINDOWS\system32 dir, then restart apache.
