    Bookmark option in Sitepoint?

    Hi guys,

This is just a thought / idea. Would it be possible to have a bookmark button within sitepoint?

What I mean is, in a thread of intrest, we usually do a CRTL+D to place a bookmark into our chosen web browser. This can build up quite alot and trying to find them can be a pain (like me, a bit untidy as Mozilla does not ask 'which folder to place it in or create one?').

Instead have a button to place a link to that particular thread into 'My Sitepoint' or where the menu is.

So many per person, so your database will not get too full too quick, maybe 5 - 10 links?

So you open a (sorry meant post) like this one, and you think 'great post/thread!!!!' i'll bookmark it.

It could come under 'Quick Links > Favourites'?

So what do you think? Good or Bad idea?

    Cheers,

    Spence

So someone else should do a bunch of work to compensate for your laziness? Wow, really convincing argument there...

It's a shame Mozilla doesn't pop up a window to give you the option where to place the link.

Why don't you just subscribe to the thread?

I'm already subscribed to the thread, just placed it in the General area. The admin have moved it to a much prefered place, some where no one looks that often

No, I meant subscribe to the thread to solve your original question.

I see what you mean, but instead of subscribing to the thread a bookmark might be more handy. I think some threads you need so many posts / takes a mod before you are subscribed to that thread.

    correct me if I'm wrong.

It's just an idea, we have 'Quick Links' just thought it would be a nice touch for SitePoint and the users.

Once you subscribe to a thread you are subscribed. No post required. No minimum post count required.

Consider yourself corrected. None of those things are needed to subscribe to a thread.

Once you subscribe, you can sort your subscribed threads into folders.

Specific threads can be placed in specific folders. I don't use it much, so I don't know the behavior of it beyond this.
