If money was not an issue: TV ads.
Next, industry magazines related to the content and large newspapers (WSJ, USA Today, NY Times, etc).

If money was not an issue, I would hire a team of salesmen and go door to door to every household, starting with the metropolitan areas.
No really, I would focus on targeted advertising and targeted branding. Buy slots in all the industry magazines, newspapers, e-zines, websites, TV programs, radio programs, etc. I would also advertise my newsletter (you do have one, right?) heavily on other websites and e-zines, even the print media. But, I would only buy this advertising if my website was content-rich with interactive features.

All these methods would help you "Brand" your product. Once people become familiar with your name, it will spread like wildfire. Word of Mouth is probably the number one traffic driver.

I changed my mind. I'd buy a computer for everyone in the world, and give them Internet access of course. Each computer would have a sticker on the tower with my URL on it. The monitor would have a sticker saying "Brought to you by {URL}". I would have my own browser and operating system created to work specifically for my website.
Maybe I'm going a little overboard?![]()
