Help needed for php

I have a server running on Fedora Core 4. I am using a php script to connect to another db server using mysql. My php script is able to work on command line to connect to the db server but unable to be activated thru a http post.

Any idea what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure that you're using the same username/password combination in both? Are you connecting with an IP or a hostname?
