    Eh..."WiseNut also groups Web pages from the same site under one result listing, allowing more results to be shown on the same page. " Too bad google already does that. But if WiseNut already has 800 million pages I think it's probably the closest competitor to google.

    so thats who was spidering my site... I tried wisenut's search, I didn't like it... it was also slightly slow.

    Yes - I have gotten a billion hits from wisenut's spider. It doesn't seem to mind encountering seemingly endless pages on my site.

    I use Google most of the time, prior to that I used Profusion. Never heard of wisenut but will give it a try.

    I also finally downloaded Copernic's free search product and have tried that. Kinda reminds me of the old Ferret searches (which were nice).

    Since I use search engines so much throughout the day (for my primary occupation as a private investigator), I have need of good ones that return concise info. So far Google has been the best. But I definatly see prospects in the future for others.
