    Rails?

    Perhaps I'm behind, what is rails? I keep seeing in in topics but don't know what it is.

    Its a web application framework written in Ruby.

    Rails is a Web Application framework which is written using the Ruby language.

    It was created during the development of a project called Basecamp by a team including and lead by David Heinemeier Hansson of 37signals.

    So,
    Language: Ruby
    Web App stack, including MVC, persistence, etc, all written in Ruby: Rails

    Rails is intended primarily for Web development using Ruby. It also comes with its own small scale webserver called Webrick (sp?)
