What is MsSoapRuntime?
I have a program called MsSoapRuntime on my pc (WinXP pro SP2) and I donīt know whatīs it for. I havenīt installed it. The directory contains only two files: _svdir.VBS and SOAPVDIR.CMD. Can I delete or uninstall it or is it needed my another app.
The vbs file doesnīt look very dangerous but Iīve no idea what is does.

Soap is a framework for sending information from one computer to another by several ways. FTP, Email, HTTP etc ..... Looks like something installed on your machine is interfacing with the Soap Runtime.
It could be just about anything, MSN messenger or any .NET or Java application. You can read up on it by Googling this:
Ms Soap Runtime
It part of the Soap Toolkit .... not 100% sure where or whats running it though..... personally I would make a safe copy of them and then delete them to see what stops working (just to make sure they arent some new spyware or virus)
Here's some info I found:
If you Google this: SOAPVDIR.CMD you will find a ton of info

thanks for your help. I uninstalled the program via the system control and it seems that everything else is still working. Unfortunately I cannot remove the directory which contains only one file now. That means something is still using it. Strange.
