Thanks fredda. Sorry about that—the examples should all be fixed now.

The first example is working great for me but there is one little nit-pick/problem. In FF3, whenever the function gets the http_response the javascript debugger shows a syntax error in the first line of the document you're trying to retrieve.

Any clue as to why this is happening?

Doesn't hurt functionality at all, just fills my debugger with meaningless errors is all.

edit: here is the error exactly

    not well-formed

    I'm a test.
    .. ^

I've changed the code a little and I'm getting a similar error (replace not well-formed with syntax error)

A fantastic tutorial. thanks very much. I've been scared of tackling Ajax but know I needed to for some time. This was a great help.

    nice tutorial...
maybe you could also post a mootools 1.2 version.
or if anyone else is interested I might port it myself. Just let me know.

Great article - well explained, and just the right balance between hand-holding and encouragement to do it for ourselves, IMHO. Thanks.

As a tongue-in-cheek sidenote: If someone 'deleting everything on a server' is the worst example you can think of, you need to have a chat about liability with a lawyer ;)
