    Tips on Developing Affiliate Deal

    Hi all,
I'm thinking of developing an affiliate deal for my site.
    Does anybody have any tips?
I have developed a partner program where I insert my code in a partners template and they get a commision but I was thinking of doing a simple Affiliate deal.
Do you know where I'd go to promote it?
What sort of commision do affiliates look for?
Do they look for a sign up deal?
    Thanks

Can you give us a little more information about your product? Each product warrants a different percentage and marketing technique.

Also what kind of website do you run? Who is your target audience? What is the cost of the product? How much does the product sell for? And any other information about your website and product could help us answer your questions.

    Product Details

My product is an online site that allows users to bet against each other on any event (Sporting or other) worldwide.

Users offer a bet and await another user to match it. When the event outcome is determined and the winner selected, the win total is lodged to their account and a 3% commision charge is added.

This is an affiliate share would have to come from, when a user comes through their site and registers I would give the affiliate a cut from the commission on all bets placed by that user.

    What do you think?

Would a cut from 3% be too little for an affiliate?

With a website like that I wouldn't bother with a percentage program. Instead, I would go with a registration affiliate program. Pay your affiliates a set amount for every user who joins your service, and maybe throw in an added bonus for every user who places an actual bet.
