    Chinese character in HTML

    I would like to ask if anyone know how can I key in Chinese character in html. Our previous webmaster master had done it and when I view the source, there are many symbols.

    Which character encoding are you using? Big5? GB? Unicode?

    Or are they numeric character entries?

    What do the symbols look like?

    If your text editor is set up for the correct character encoding you should be able to type, copy or paste chinese characters as normal, and if your server is set to output the correct character encoding they'll look the same in the output.

    That page is using GB character encoding. You'll need a text editor that supports that encoding, and then you should be able to just copy and paste any chinese (simplified) characters into it.

    Keep in mind too that you must have a font installed on your system that contains those characters in order to see them correctly.
