subdomains

I have a client who is need of setting up a subdomain to handle redirects from their newsletters.

I don't know how to do it myself but I'd like to steer them in the right direction so they can get one set up becuase it would make my life a little easier. I've searched the forums but can't find anything specific that explains how it is done.

Anyone know of good resource to get them started?

Do you host their website or do they host it themselves (or with a virtual host)?

Let me ask really quick, do you mean:

www.somedomain.com/sub

or

sub.somedomain.com

Unless you host it (or virtual host it) yourself, then there is not really much that you can do. This is something that the administrator of the server would have to do, unless they have a control panel set up for the server.

Check the admin section of their website to see if the hosting company offers the ability to set this up yourself. If not. then you'll have to contact the hosting company.

Yes Creole is right you have to ask your host. Mine set mine up for me in 5 minutes.
