Please Review -- new auction site --

I am looking for reviews for my new site Auction Monster please let me know what you think of the design / functionality and what I can do to make it better.

let me tell u about the design aspect it looks perfect to me, dint find any issues, you can have a nice slogan with the logo

It looks good. Although, the red seems a little uneasy on the eyes. Maybe make it a little darker? Also, it is good to have rollovers on the menus.

Nope, I am using a CRT. I guess it is not too bad after you get used to it. It was just that when I first went on the site, it seemed a little bright. Could just be me though.

Anyways, I would add rollovers to the menus. It is a good color scheme, but I would also probably make the red just a couple shades darker. That is just me though.

It is pretty good, but there are a few things I would change!

A mouseover on yor main nav should be considered - just use a different colour background image for the mouseover.

I wouls swap the red/blue images so the blue one is in the center just below the man navigation

I would consider putting the Search Below the categories in the left column, as I personally tend to browse, then search when looking at auction sites.

Experiment a little with the Logo - Make the text a bit bigger - so your monster appears to be pointing at it.

You are certainly well on the way to creating not just a good site, but a great site!

thanks for your input, I began validation last night, and I found over 166 errors, I have made quite a few changes and home to finish all of the changes tomorrow at least for the home page anyway.

Well I am selling 3 domains at the moment. But you dont have a domain catagory?
I like the fact that you took care in your design the fact that people with smaller screens still can see the site properly. Good work on that.

I would advice to keep the forums in the same width settings though.

I was thinking about integrating the forums directly into the site, that everything matches up... I plan to start working on that next week, I am still debating on picking up a copy of vBulletin. I am planning to add a domain / web design / website section If you want to list your domains I would be happy to do that right away

Vbulletin will cost you money. Take a look at my site. I run Phorum. It is being used by Zend and PHP on their sites as a bulletin board and its highly customisable. I recommend it, and the good thing is that its free

I used phorum on another site I ran about a year ago until the forum software got hacked :'( and since then I havn't gone back

Phorum 5 is out in the mean time.

I would be tempted to play with the colours slightly. The Grey background is too dark IMO. The Red is a little too much like a 'warning' effect.

The header looks a little empty and I'd certainly swap out the Grey 'Auction' for something a little more 'lively'

Have you thought about adding a Help section?

Apart from that this version looks clean and sits will on the page/screen.

That's a really nice design. A couple of things I think would finish it off:

1) Rollovers on the menu buttons, just to the blue or maybe a darker red

2) Make the red a tad darker, as it's a bit harsh on the eyes at the moment and maybe takes too much attention away from the content.

3) Find some space to put the login on the homepage. It'll save the user time finding the Login button and having to load a whole new page.

4) Plan for the future, and try and get hold of .com - those not too familiar with the internet will assume your site is a .com

Looks like you're trying to copy templatemonster.com - I would go a completely different way from them and try to establish somthing on your own. Although with the name it might be hard.

The layout works for the site, just try something new.

How does it look anything like template monster other than close to the same color scheme. I went with red white blue so that it would a US theme ... but I appreciate your review regardless
