    PHP and Search Engines

Will search engines crawlers still crawl over .php pages and insert them into their databases? Also are there any other drawsback along those lines to using .php instead of .html files?

Yes, search engines will index .php pages, so you're fine.

Search engines wil index .php pages, but many search engines (with the important exception of google) ignore pages that have a ? in the URL - i.e the pages of this forum for one. There are ways around this (involving rewrite rules aand things like that) - there have been several good discussions about this on the Search Engine forum.
