    mySql connection problem server farm...

    Hi

    Got a mySQL db running on server 1. Webservers 2 & 3 are meant to connect to server 1, but authentication is failing: i.e. access denied to root@server2 or root@server3...

    I have set permissions on server 1 to all (root@"%" and root@server1)...

    Running my app on server1 is no problem...

    Any suggestions? BTW...Server 2 & 3 can see server1 via network, port 3306, telnet, etc..

    This is driving me nuts...Please help... ;-)

    Set conn = Server.Createobject("adodb.connection")
    Set rs = Server.Createobject("adodb.recordset")
    conn.open "Driver={MySQL};server=10.30.1.100;uid=bryan;pwd=password;database=bet12"
    SQL = "SELECT * FROM q12 ORDER BY RAND();"
    rs.Open SQL, conn, 1, 2

    server=10.30.1.100 is internal IP address of server1...this script runs on server 2 & 3...same connection string...server 2 & 3 ips are 10.30.1.121 and 122, respectively...

    do i need to grant privileges on server1 for bryan@10.30.1.121 and bryan@10.30.1.122??? then flush privileges??

    This is in the wrong forum btw...

    Just create a DSN on servers 2 & 3 and point that DSN to the SQL SERVER. You'll have to modify your connection string of course.
