Secure session - generate our own SID?

    Hello,
Is there problem with SID generate by PHP? Should we create our own SID to make session somewhat more secure?

    Thanks in advance,
    John

Are you having a problem with it or just curious. I have had no problems with it so far.

I'm just curious and want to write the scripts as good and somewhat perfect as they can be. It's just my nature. Perhaps I'm worry too much about the unknowns and waste time. I should relax I think...

    Hi beachball,
Have you read session tutorial by Kevin Yank at sitepoint?
I try to modify it to make it somewhat more secure and am still learning. Store session data in database is the best. You can read these 2 threads below to find info about storing in database:

    Hi,
On a multi-processor system, is it possible that 2 people be given the same SID?
