    choosing the right printer

Hello everyone, I want to get a printer that would be able to print off quality business cards, flyers, etc, but I'm not sure how to tell which printers are capable. I'm looking for a laser and pretty cost efficient printer as well. If anyone could give me some input on which is the best buy and why, I would really appreciate it. Lastly, I would prefer a Dell laster printer, but obviously I'm not going to limit myself if need be.

See if this article has anything you can use: http://www.pcmech.com/show/internal/799/

It might be a bit too general for what you're looking for, though.

It was. I am looking for speed, quality and cost, but I don't know how to determine which printer is better quality than another?

Dont get a dell becuase they use lexmark and they really suck. I would recomend HP. Lexmarks are cheap and use more than an extreme amount of ink.

Hi, I'm new here and just getting acclimated to the forum. Equipment purchases are really difficult, so much to choose from and the specifications can be confusing.

In other forums the Epson 2200 has come up and Canon as well. I personally own an HP1700 which has basically been good to me.

Your needs really dictate the product. In my limited experience, I feel that the more money you spend initially to get all the features you want is important—such as large paper format, ink consumption and speed.

Also do your homework, if a company is about to introduce a new model, the previous version goes way down in price.

    Good luck,
    Patty

I've always been pleased with HP LaserJets. They very rarely break down. And when something *does* go wrong, it's either simply a paper jam, the toner has run out, or it just needs to be turned off and unplugged for a few min.

I've tried out a couple Xerox Phaser ColorStix printers, but the output IMHO is too shiny and the ink can be scratched off with your fingernail after a few scratches. Basically, it's like melted crayons on paper. So...I wouldn't really recommend these, even though they are top-of-the-line.

I've got an HP and it works well. Any minor issues i've ever run into were easily fixed. The quality is great for documents and photos. I printed out some of my wedding pics using it with high quality photo paper and you can't tell the difference.

Why buy junk when you can have a quality product?
