I wasn't sure if this is the correct forum to post this topic in, so if it is not will the advisors or mentors please move it to the correct forum. I am trying to get my forums threads listed in the search engines. Like many people I have urls like
http://www.mydomain.com/forums/forum...php?forumid=36 where the search engines can't spider the url after the ? ,so my threads don't get indexed except by google. I have heard that I could utilize the mod_rewrite module that is installed on the server that my site is hosted on and I was wondering what the best way to accomplish this was. I have heard that I could put the following into an .htaccess file and upload it to my forums directory, but before I did it I wanted to consult you guys. Anyways here's the code
Code:
RewriteRule ^f([0-9]+)/s([^/]*)/$ /forumdisplay.php?forumid=$1&s=$2 [L]
RewriteRule ^t([0-9]+)/s([^/]*)/thread\.html$ /showthread.php?threadid=$1&s=$2 [L]
RewriteRule ^[ft]([0-9]+)/s([^/]*)/(.+)$ /$3 [L]
BTW I use vbulletin and to get to my forums pages the url is once again www.mydomain.com/forums. Does the above code look correct?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steven
