Smile Thinking of Buying a Power Mac

Im thinking of upgrading from my eMac computer to a Power Mac. Tell me what you think of these specs:

    • Dual 2.3GHz PowerPC G5
    • 8GB DDR400 SDRAM (PC3200) - 8x1GB
    • 400GB Serial ATA - 7200rpm
    • NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT DDL w/256MB GDDR3 SDRAM
    • Apple Cinema HD Display (23" flat panel)
    • Bluetooth Module + AirPort Extreme Card
    • 56k V.92 internal modem
    • 16x SuperDrive double-layer (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
    • PCI-X Gigabit Ethernet Card
    • Apple Keyboard & Apple Mouse - U.S. English
    • Mac OS X - U.S. English

    Total Cost: $7,076.00 + Taxes & Shipping

That baby is one powerful computer. The price is extremly high but wouldn't it be nice to have 8GB of memory?

let me try it out when you get it

i love the power macs and that looks like a great system. if only i had unlimited money, i'd buy one. the only thing you might consider is buying a different monitor. while i love the apple displays, they are pretty expensive. but if you have enough money for that incredible mac then the monitor shouldn't be a problem

i remember when i used to work at this print shop when we were bored we'd go to the apple store and see how expensive we could make a power mac. don't remember the actual numbers but they were REALLY high

while that might be an awesome setup, I would find it very hard to spend that much money on a machine that could accomplish the same thing for at least 50% of the cost.

I've got a 15" powerbook which i love. It's powerful enough to do everything i need it to do, cheap enough for me to afford it, and light enough to carry around everywhere.
