How do you secure your computer work?

Came back last night from a short holiday and found out burglars broke into our home and stole our two computers. Fortunately, my main work computer is not at home (I have a small home office at my in-laws next door) so no great loss (other than lost money of course).

Got me thinking though. What would be the best way to secure my info? How do you people do it?

If you're talking about hardware - keeping your machines hidden or at another location always works.

If you're talking all of your software and files... off-site backups! Backing them up to a portable hard drive or data DVD/CD and storing them off-site, everyplace from a safe deposit box at a bank to another office, is preferred.

All my hard drives are encrypted. Work drives are encrypted with Windows Native schemes and data drives with GnuPG.

I use an external HDD for files I don't want to loose, that is set to do differential backups whenever i plug it in. I also run off a DVD about once a month for similar reasons. If the stuff was important Work related data I would probably keep a copy offsite as well in case of fire or similar.
