    browser compatibility

I use CSS in my site (default browser is IE), but when I view it in NS4.51, it looks like NS ignores the style sheet. Why?
I also use the "screen" value in a Style tag for "media" parameter.

What META, LINK tags or whatever else is required
(for NS and also for IE) to show the page properly?

Netscape 4.x ignores all but the most basic of CSS syntax. If you are concerned with Netscape 4.x users, then your best bet would to avoid CSS nearly altogether. As much as I love CSS, it just not worth it if you are concerned about cross-browser compatibility.

As usual, a good link to bugs in css with relation to the various browsers.

    http://css.nu/pointers/bugs.html

also...url for your site? netscape ignores all but the basic (as croele said). it is also very strict....

while your css style sheet is valid...your html code must too or netscape won;t show the styles properly...

there are no essential meta tags, but it is good practise to include the basic few.

namely, description, keyword, language, author, robot index..in fact..there are numerous meta tags!
