    Exec command

How do I execute a script on a page written with PHP.

I know it goes something like:

    exec("[PATH]")
    or
    exec "[PATH]"

But it doesn't seem to work.

    Thanks for any help.

It's for a stats script (AXS), currently I'm using an image to log visits, but I would like to execute the script instead.
