    Problem installing Matrox G400

I'm just doing a reinstall of win98 on a separate hard disk, I have tried installing Matrox driver from the original CD but when rebooting I get a screen with a lots of coloured lines and not much else?
    and pc freezes!

    Anybody got any ideas?

    thanks
    dom

Did the boot problem arise right after you installed the Matrox card drivers? If so, did you also do anything else during that Windows session or are the drivers the only thing you changed?

Also, at what stage of the boot process does your computer hang? CAn you get into Safe Mode? And which version of 98 are you using, 98 or 98SE?

    thanks Dominique for your help

The boot problem arised after I attempted installation of the drivers, I know this because when I go into safe mode, and device manager withing the control panel it says it is there.

It hangs just as desktop should appear

    I have win98 second edition

but I'm confused becasue I got it to work when i first got the card 2 years ago and now I'm doing a reinstall it doesnt work

    cheers again

That's weird. Did you try to reinstall the drivers from Safe Mode? Also, there might be new drivers on Matrox's site that are less buggy.
