    Portfolio question

    Hi all.

I am going to redesign my online portfolio and wanted to get your opinions...

Should a portfolio(website) look extra fancy and be the best webdesign that i can do.... or should it be good but simple... you know just to display my work and let the work speak for itself?

What did you do for your portfolio?

    Any input is appreciated

I'm still putting mine together (had to put my business ideas on hold for a while as I'm way too busy with other things - lucky I'm not in this for the money ). Anyway, my idea is to keep my web design site/portfolio pleasant to look at but simple - more functional and info related, then allow the sites that I've built do all the talking, if you get my drift.

I'm with saz on this one. Keep it simple, clean and easy to use. A good series of example sites is going to be your biggest selling point. Our idea is to keep a simple layout, with a solid content-base that's easy to use, and to have to good portfolio to back it up.

    Howdy!

In my humble opinion, I believe that you should allow your visitors' eyes to focus on your works. Keep your porfolio page design clean and simple and really concentrate attention on your clients either through screen shots or logos or excellent descriptions of the project.

    GOOD LUCK!!

I guess I'm leaning towards "balance".

What I look to achieve is to provide an example of a site that a potential client could be proud of. Thus I don't want it too simple, but not too... well, 2advanced-y...

Your portfolio section should be clear and provide information into not only what you did but why certain things were done (and why you were chosen).

Dunno, I'm rambling... video shoots do that to me, sorry...

Well, our site is not neccessarily a "portfolio." We have a portfolio within our site, but it's design is no different than the other pages within the site. We have small screen shots of the different sites, and small text links. Feel free to take a look:
