Best Buy: 100GB hard drive for $50

This hard drive will be on sale at Best Buy for $50 starting tomorrow. The same drive, but in SATA, will be available for $60. It's a Maxtor, I know, but I figured someone will be needing a new HD in the next week

If you watch slickdeals.net, there are always harddrives BIGGER than 100GB for around $50

Damn, I didn't know they where so cheap, only a few months ago I got a 120 G for $120, although it was seagate and it wasn't SATA so maybe I didn't do that bad :-s

Guess it depends, I'm in Australia so the prices may differ a bit :-s but yer, I still think I payed too much.

i've found in quite often that HDDs are cheaper here than in the USA, not a huge amount but the savings are there if you look around.

Also to the OP, Nothing wrong with Maxtor HDDs. In the past 2 years i've used olmist exclusively Maxtor drives and had ONE drive fail. Compare that to a mate who insists on Seagate and has a fail rate of ~15% and you know that Maxtor can't be that bad.
