hehe, I got my license today too... in illinois we don't have to take a test if we took it at school... odd... but I didn't complain, I was kinda worried about parallel parking =\
grats to you toast...
i HATE parallel parking. I'm currently learning to drive and have been doing turn in the roads, reversing round a left hand bend and parallel parking for like 7 hours. It's really annoying me now
Yes, it does help!Do you actually need to pass that to get a driving license?![]()
Here in the UK you need to pass a theory test of 35 questions getting 30 correct i believe, a hazard perception test on a computer and the actual driving test.

It's going to be a Mini Cooper, hopefully.Originally Posted by pippo

Congratulations... I had to take my test a number of times!
The most memorable time was when my Mom had a car called a Simca. In essence, it was a tuna can with seats and a "4-in the floor". It was August and about 96 degrees (F). The examiner told me to go out in the car and wait, that he'd be there in a minute. He was there in about 20 minutes and the sweat was just rolling off me! EWWWW!
When he got into the car, the examiner asked me, "How are you today?"
I was disheveled, nervous, and angry at having to wait so long. My reply was "Damn hot!"
I could tell by his frown and the vigor he used in making check marks down the page that it was the wrong thing to say.![]()

Congratulations Frozentoast...
Wow i had to take more then 20 lessons of 38 euros each, and pay something like 150-200 euros to try to pass my exam. Yeah i know driving lessons in Holland are very exspensive....Originally Posted by suro
And then you have to hope you pass it the first time, otherwise you have to take more lessons, pay another 150-200 euros for the exam. A friend of mine fail for his exam 8 times in a row, he paid a fortune to get it.
It would be a little bit of a understatment if i said you got it really cheap!
Congrats Andy!![]()

Wow, that's a tough policy. It took me two tries, but it's only $30/test here, and lessons are optional, so by comparison it was pretty cheap in my case.Originally Posted by Tijmen

A couple of years ago a lot of people started to visit the Dutch Antils to get there drivers license. You could get it almost for free there and because the Dutch Anitils are connected to Holland, it was also valid here ;-) But when a lot of people started doing this, they (unfortunately) changed the rules.Originally Posted by WealthStream
It would have been nice, having a holiday and relaxing on the beach and bringing back a drivers license to Holland.

Does your budget stretch to a Mini Cooper S with racing stripes?![]()
wd... I only got my car licence at 24 :|
Biker to the bone!!!
I wish lessons were optional here in Portugal, here you need to do 30 hours of theory (lessons..), plus 30 hours of pratic before taking the exam. And in the exam, you can only fail 3 out of 30 questions, but my exam is only in SeptemberOriginally Posted by WealthStream

30 hours of pratic cost 350euros, and I can't remember the price of the theoric part, but I know its a total of 550euros, more or less.. damn expensive compared to other countries..
btw, congrats frozen![]()
oi!

ive failed 6 driving tests with teens of minors every time, and at least 2 majors.
