Palladin? I just checked the internal codename database and there's never been a codename for "Palladin" for any product.
M$ naming their OS releases by the name of Cattle is perfect for them. They are heavy, slow and when they do get angry they really case some serious damage :\

You never know. A lot of mindless people might decide on what OS they use depending on the name or the company that released it. People do that daily with Mac OS X. Some hate it cause its apple they dont hate it because its bad or anything. In my opinion I dont hate the name that Microsoft decided to name the next version of windows I will upgrade even though I use my Mac more.

Ahhh, that sounds about right, the articles I had (damned if I can find the links) raised serious issues with your private information. Seems I recalled someone stateing that was the beginning of Longhorn, maybe i misunderstood at the time. Was a few years ago. Nobody in other forums seems to remeber Palledin either.
Stll a cooler name then Longhorn or vista... LOL

that was an EVIL idea. WOuld have switched me off Windows completely. As it is now i only use if for games anyway.
Palladium is a pretty nice technology that will probably prove extremely useful in many ways, most of them not related to DRM. Most of the information spread about Palladium is total FUD from people with an axe to grind.

it was the DRM technology i hated from the start, why should i be _forced_ to aquire licences for music i'm ripping so i don't have to get the CD out every time i want to listen to music? Also it isn't anyone's business but my own what software and hardware makes is in my computers.
I liked the idea of the new WinFS if it was going to be more reliable, but as it isn't going to be incorporated into Longhorn i very much doubt i'll upgrade anyway. There seems little point from the information i've gathered in upgrading, except to get the "Latest and Greatest" from M$. In other words more features that most folks will never use.
1. Palladium does absolutely not, in any way, force you to acquire licenses CDs that you have ripped yourself. That is totally false.
2. if you hate DRM, you do not necessarily have to hatePalladium. Palladium can be used to strengthen DRM, but so can a LOT of other technologies. Palladium can also be used for a multitude of other purposes than DRM, most of them far more interesting and significant than DRM.

I think doors would be cool but I cant see MS changing all those windows for doors, sides youd need alot more security or people would be falling out of the 5th floor.
