    SQL in HTML?

Is it possible to run an SQL statement in an HTML page?
Like, for example, an SQL statement to show the total number of files in an SQL database.

this would need to be done server side with the results rendered in html. consequently it would need to be done with a server side scripting language such as php, asp, jsp etc. is it possible to do this with a static .html file?...not that i know of.

No. You can't do this with a static HTML file. As makeda said, you'd need a server-side program to do this for you.

Also, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "a SQL statement to show the total number of files in an SQL database."...but did we answer your questions anyways?

No, but never mind about it now. It isn't important. I just thought of something extra I could put on my site, and wanted to see if it could be done, but don't worry about it.
Thanks anyway for your help; you have helped.
