    Hello

First you need to purchase a domain name. You will also need to purchase hosting. Then they will provide you with the necessary information to use the above mentioned FTP software to upload the files to your hosting companies server.

There are free solutions for hosting

Actually there are file managers in CPanel sites too that allow someone to upload files right thru the browser, no FTP required but if youre going to be into this business its time to learn how to use an FTP program .... its really about as simple as it gets.

Also some editors like EditPlus and DreamWeaver have built in FTP progs.

So you have a domain name and the details of where to upload your files? (already mentioned).

If you do, then you can use the 'put' function in DW to upload your site.
You will need to fill in the remote site information in the site definition for this to work. Checkout the DW help files on how this is done.

I use Cuteftp (commercial version) , but you can find a free ftp program to upload the files also. Your choice.

Well if you have Dreamweaver you just have to set up your site in your Manage Your SIte menu.

In your Files Panel (assuming you have MX) you have select the dropdown and select manage your site. If you have already set up your site locally, you just have to set it up on your server. If you have not, then do so now.

SO select Manage your site and then select your site. and then select the Remote Info in the left (if in Advanced tab)

    Select Access: FTP
FTP host: your website.com (or your FTP details provided by your host).
Host directory: your root folder on your server (or wherever you want to upload your files to)
    Login: your username
    Password: ****

Save password and then test the account. If it works you got it right!

    Hit Okay.

In your file panel now select Remote View and you should see the folders on your server. Select Local View again and then select the name of your site (below, in the pane) and hit the UP arrow and that will "PUT" all your files on your remote host.

Thats about it for Dreamweaver. For a more extensive and detailed explanation about Defining a site and all the other features (Testing server..) go here
