    Any Deer Park alpha users?

For those of you who don't know, Deer Park is the alpha version of Firefox 1.1. It supports such great things as not leaking memory like a sinking ship, tabs that can be reordered, and being able to go back and forth in history without killing your computer! I've been using it for a couple of days now and I still can't believe how much faster it is than Firefox 1.0.x. If you're not afraid to run non-production-ready software and don't mind some of your extensions breaking (greasemonkey doesn't work for me, but the Web Developer bar and a bunch of others are just fine), then try it out; you might be pleasantly surprised

I ran alpha 1 for about a day last month but was frustrated at the lack of extensions that worked so I went back to Firefox. Since alpha 2 was released a couple of days ago I decided to give it another shot. A lot more of my extensions are working, thankfully, but I still miss greasemonkey

Hm, any way to see extension compatibility?

Tab reordering sounds cool. (And yes, CharmedLover et all, I know Opera has it. )

Save the extension XPI file. Rename the extension to ZIP. Look inside the ZIP and find a file called install.rdf. It's an XML document, so look for a "maxversion" or similarly-named element/attribute. If it says "1.1", then the extension will most likely work in Deer Park. If it says "1.0" or a lower number, Deer Park won't even try to load it. There are a few extensions that work just fine if you up the maxversion yourself to 1.1 (it's usually up to the extension author to update the numbers and most won't do it until a release is past alpha stage), but there are a few that won't be so easy (I'm pretty sure that greasemonkey falls into this category).

I just installed it, opened it up there was huge grey area at the bottom of the staus bar taking up a 3rd of my screen with a url to some imgazoom.dtd. So I closed it or thought I did but I tried to open FF again but it said I couldn't cause Deer Park Alpha was already running, so I had to go uninstall DPA2 and all seems to be good again

I've used it a couple of times and like the new stuff being
added to it. It renders pages faster than all the other
browsers I use. When they finish this version it will be
pretty hard for other freeware browsers to compete
    with this one.

Meh. Too lazy. Most of those features sound cool, but some I already have (like tab reordering), so I don't have the motivation to check it out. I'll just wait until its general release.

I installed it and ran it for a few days...it's nice but like others here I need my extensions to survive. Yes, I love Firefox straight up, but extensions are what make me lust over it. Ok that sounded creepy....

I'm a little wary of installing something called "Deer Park" since that is a refinery town down here that had the giant BP explosion a few months ago.
