User Profiles
We want to get to know you. As such I would like to recommend that everyone review your public profile and make sure it is up to date.
Not only can we get to know more about you from your profile but starting today we can see you as well.
Starting now you can include your own profile photo. This can be picture of yourself or a screenshot of your website. All the community guidelines apply i.e. no pornography or hatred or other illegal matter.
The image should scale well to 150 X 170 as these dimensions will be hardcoded for your image. Also it will need to be stored on your server space for the time being. Since it will be stored remotely this does mean you can use a webcam URL for your photo. Just make sure it is appropriate.
Properly done, your profile tells us a lot about you and your business. It can also tell potential clients about your business as well.
Can't wait to see you all. Simply edit your profile by going to:

I put a more recent picture of me up on my profile. The only problem is that it's stretched quite a bit vertically. Maybe it would be best to use 140x90 or something similar so that the aspect ratio (4:3) of most digital cameras is retained? Sure, we could all go in and scale our pics, but it just seems easier for everyone...
Just a thought...
[edit] Ok, I fixed my vertical stretching problem. I pasted my pic into Photoshop (640x480) and resized the canvas to 750x850. After adding borders and some color, I resized the image to 150x170. So now it looks normal.Last edited by qslack; Jul 10, 2001 at 17:55.

If you have never logged in from http://sitepointforums.com and instead always visit from http://www.sitepointforums.com then you might have to log in again.
It all depends on how your browser handles cookies and whether it includes the subdomain in the determination. There is really nothing I can do to fix this if your browser recognizes the two sites as different.
I personally access the forums both ways and have never had any problems.

Yeah I know I should have done that now! I realised what I did wrong....I called up my profile by clicking on my username from the 'last poster' column instead
You have to let me off here, ok. I've not long got back from Silverstone where I've spent the last 4 days sleeping (or not as the case may be) in a caravan after consuming copious amounts of wine, hence I'm not quite with it yetSaz: Naturally Blonde, Naturally Dizzy!

Saz, Marc just did the same thing. That must have been a lot of sleep (or lack of it)

I think it's definitely a 'lack of sleep' thing where I'm concerned, though I'm just about to make up for that - I've not long had a nice soak in the bath, so I'm feeling all relaxed and well and truly ready for my bed..............sleep glorious sleep, and not alcohol induced this time!
