    opera - file upload

    is it possible to upload files with opera? doesn't seem to work with me...

    I just use the most simple upload script you can have, since I don't need to worry for security

    and it's not only with my script, it's with any script...

    is there a solution for this?

    works in IE and netscape, doesn't give an error in opera, it just doesn't do a thing

    it's not just MY script, it are all upload scripts

    try http://www.zachwhite.com/dev/upload.html with opera and IE, with opera: no file selected, with IE it shows the size etc of the file

    Using Opera version 5.10 I do get the file upload. However, the buttons (file and upload) do not display correctly. I'll be right back.. I wanna check your HTML a little closer

    It's possible that Opera does not support the form element File Type. You should post a message on the Opera Newsgroup for a better answer. I'd do it myself cause I'm curious.. but I got a deadline - here's the address: http://newsopera.com .

    I did a search on that newsgroup, and indeed, the problem is known...opera follows the correct standard if you can believe them...

    To quote Yngve, an Opera developer:
    ====
    Somebody maintaining that service didn't read section 4.2 of RFC 2616, otherwise known as the HTTP 1.1 standard, which says that HTTP Headers may be split across lines, if the break is done using CRLF followed by a space or TAB character, (commonly used in email headers).

    I assumed it was something like that. I just didn't know the details. Opera is the most compliant browser out there (did I say that right?).
