    Using ASP on my PWS

    I wish to use PWS on my Windows machines (98) in order to learn ASP. According to this article ASP works on PWS... however after writing a test script it would not work. Does anyone have experience with this? I would prefer to simply install that which will allow my PWS to process ASP, but knowing MS I will probably have to download a whole new version thereby placing my computer at risk of Armageddon... oh well. Replies appreciated!

    Make sure you run the ASP files from the root directory you specified during the installation and make sure you have the PWS service on. That should work. If not, I can't help you. (Unless you coded the ASP file wrong)

    Make sure you also have execute priviledge enabled on the directory you are working from.

    Remember that you don't just access the file from Windows Explorer. You must use a browser and go to http://localhost/ and whatever the name of the directory is....

    Are you getting a specific error,

    Here is the code I used:

    <html>
    <head>
    <title>ASP Test Page!
    </title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <%
    ' Write out a simple HTML paragraph
    Response.Write "<p>This is a test of ASP.</p>"
    %>
    </body>
    </html>

    And I am viewing the file via http://localhost/asptest.asp and all I get is a blank page... no errors and no paragraph.

    Thanks
