In the past week alone I have had 4 or 5 people IM me on AIM saying they got my name from Sitepoint. One of them was a 13 year old looking for a job, another one was a college kid asking for help with his homework, and just now some guy wanted me to "loan him" $10 via PayPal. I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, and if I should be concerned. I mean most of these people have seemed harmless, but the last guy asking for money smelled like a scam. Have there been scam artists harvesting names from the Sitepoint user directory?
I haven't gotten any. Let on that you're willing to give him $10, but ask for his username just in case you need to contact him outside of AIM. Then give it to mmj.
