    Not sure what to do.

    Hello. I just would like to see what yall would suggest.
    I am in need of a program that would allow someone to log into their account. Specific user name and password. After they log in they would see just a message to them. I was wondering if there is any sort of php or cgi script out there currently I could use. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Dave

    Thanks for that article link. That is great for the information on the login for the users. But how can i get it to pull up information only for a specefic user. So for example if mike logs in he only sees his current status on his problem.

    Thanks

    Where and how are you planning on storing the information that you are going to "pull up" for the logged-in user?

    Is the data comming from records in a database table? If so, then each relevent database table should have a column which holds a user id.

    If it is comming from a flat file - you may have one file per user and the data gets read from the relevent file. You could name each file after the user's id.

    I prefer using databases myself.

    select from usertable
    where username = '$specificUserName'";

    It's that simple.
