    freelance resources?

The company I work for is like the Titanic, it's sinking! They recently announced a 20% cut in salary and hours. So, now I need to supplement my income with some freelance work or look for a new job entirely.

I would love to get some advice from everyone here for sites or boards where I can pick up some freelance work in web design and development.

Also, I was looking at job posts today in the paper and so many require a computer science degree. I'd like to know how many people in the comminity actually have one especially those databse gurus out there.

I have B.S. degree in Computer Science, but I'm sure many people will say no need for one, show them your portfolios, experience, and if you did freelance, you have no problem getting jobs.

    Thank Johnn,

Just what I was looking for, I'll be working down the list.
I think the degree will have to wait.

If you have time, maybe invest your time in a part time degree? In the long term, it will be useful.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had the same experience with smarterwork.com as I.

I have bid on many jobs there with resonable bids, not too high, not too low. But I have yet to get one job from there. It seems there is one or two people who undercut everyone and bid extremely low and get a huge amount of jobs and the rest get very few or none. Is elance.com any better than this?

I too will check out the others on this list. Thanks!

    Stephanie
