® Problem in autoresponder

I have a php script being sent out with a ® in the autoresponder copy.
Problem is, ® doesn't show up. If I use the special character ®, that is what shows up. how do I add a ® to the autoresponder text?

I'm kind of new to this... but I would think you'd have to escape the PHP when you want to add something like that:

How do you call mail function? If you'd like to send html mail, the content-type header must be set.
