Site earnings have reached an all-time low

My affiliate programs have done horribly this month...and traffic has stayed roughly the same....anyone else having similar experiences? By the end of the month I will have made 20% of what I normally make in a given month. It's strange because the site I run has been up since the year 2000 and money the site has earned has been pretty much constant for about 1.5 - 2 years.

Google just had a huge adjustment to their algorithm. It could be impacting things.

All my earnings have consistantly been going up month after month for a while now.

Sales usually go down in the summer months due to vacation time. They pickup again in September.

This tends to be true... however, if you can develop and optimize what you have at a fast enough rate, you should be able to at least come out level if not above.

When I see threads like this it's totally deja vu for me. Takes me back to the times around 2001 when ad sales were so low sites were falling off left and right!

Online Guide is right, things slow down in the summer typically. But just the same I hope everyone is doing all they can to fully monetize their sites. If you're not already selling something then now is a great time to start working on ways to actually sell an expanded form of your site's content. Or some other goods related to your site. I've learned the ad and affiliate money will have it's ups and downs. Which is why everyone needs goods of their own to sell as their primary source of revenue instead of the 3rd party deals.

I'm sure many of you are already doing the right thing, but just figured I'd mention this for anyone that may need to do it.
Please do not PM me about your business or sale.

Summer time usually increases traffic and earnings...the nature of my site is for kids though, who are out of school.

How diversified are you? Is this one or two sites, 10+? I have quite a few and I've noticed a small dip in ad revenue but not traffic.

Usually the July 4th weekend will be the lowest point in traffic for me, but overall my overall traffic increases a little bit in the summer.

Sales don't usually go down as much during the summer as they are going down for me.
