Are URLs in forum sigs spam?

If I put my website URLs in my forum post signatures, will SE's think I am spamming?

No, but many forums (such as this one) either do not display the signatures to SEs or use a nofollow to make them useless for SE purposes.

I don't believe SP does either of those.

In a webmaster forum such as this one, I think it is good to encourage people to show one another what they are doing, and I believe the sig is still limited to 4 lines. I would be okay with 2-3 lines also.

Not sure but I think that the sigs are not available to SE's. Could be wrong though. Perhaps someone can confirm.

I wouldn't have said it if it wasn't true

If you don't sign into SP you cannot see people's signatures. So neither do the SE's. Not all forums do this, but generally it's a watse of time to include a signature unless you care about the human traffic it may bring from forum userbase. But just for PR sake - it's does very little. Of course if you have the attitude, "Well, It can't hurt...", then I guess there's no reason not to include a Sig because it can't hurt to have one.
