using frames, but not on index page

people have told me that the site in the frame has to be saved as in "index" site or something. But, I don't want the frame page on the homepage of my website.

SO what do I do? I'm really confused

well im not exactly sure what you mean, but i can guess neither do you. first of all, get your facts straight. a framed page is not one, but many pages. when a window is split in sections, each section is a separate html page. they just load in the same window. an index page is ALWAYS, unless otherwise specified, your homepage. when you go to www.sitepoint.com or www.yahoo.com or whatever, you think you're at http://www.sitepoint.com/ and http://www.yahoo.com/ , but in reality, you are at http://www.sitepoint.com/index.html (oops i just checked and sitepoint seems to be that "otherwise specified" example.) they must have changed their default page. dont mind this, just have faith that an index page is a homepage. the default homepage. now, if you dont want your homepage to have frames, simply dont divide your window into sections until you get to your linked page. once linked to the section where you want to begin frames, load your frameset.

    hope this helps
