    AdSense ad placement technique

I just turned 18 so I am finally able to slap ads on my site. There are two sets of ads. The leaderboard and.. can you find the other? Tell me what you think

(I tried my best to disguise it well)

looks pretty good. if you want 100% blending, move the "report" link to inside the tutorials, drop it from the list page, and make the spacing identicle for all entries, to match the adwords. Then make the titles underlined...

Good ideas Once I get the page redesigned to look a little more colorful and Photoshop-happy, I will definitely take these suggestions into consideration!

    LOL

Very nice, you added some images beside the google ads to match the rest of your site.

You may want to check with google (just in case) to ensure that they don't consider this "drawing attention to the google ads".

Let us know what they say

They don't like it when you try to TRICK people into clicking your ads, I'm all for 100% blending, but what you have there, they will not like. Trust me, I did exactly the same with an image at the side etc. Google told me, resoundingly "NO" =)

Ofcourse, you could always continue, if you think you can get away with it

Personally, I quite like this technique and don't see how it really breaks any rules, but it's always a good idea to be cautious and contact Google when in doubt. If you do keep using this placement strategy, you should make the titles of the tutorials clickable, rather than just using the images as links.

Looks perfect to me I don't think G would have a problem with it, but to be on the safe side you should certainly check with them. You don't want to lose your adsense account after just getting it

I have to agree with the above post, despite thinking it was great placement. It's a delicate balance to get users to click as much as possible, but not have them feel like they are being tricked.

That's some really well done 'blending' of your G ads. Nice job!

Nice job, but I think you will get kicked out for having too many clicks.

I'm almost 100% certain that Google will have a problem with the way you've implemented their ads. The reason being, you've integrated them so smoothly, it looks like the images are PART of the ads, when in fact they're not. I think that's what google wont like... Because they lose control over how they're being represented.

So, nice going - but CHECK with google !!

Do you guys recommend I contact Google directly to find out if this is against their rules and remove them based on their response?

I also think Google wont' be too happy with the ads. It seems a lot like tricking people into clicking on the ads.

Do you guys recommend I contact Google directly to find out if this is against their rules and remove them based on their response?
I think that would be the best course of action.

I don't think you're allowed to discuss CTR's are you? I think you're only allowed to discuss earnings. Shockt, you might wanna edit that out of your post - or it could be another cause for getting banned.

I emailed Google and awaiting a reply. I am guessing its an illegal placement but we will see.

If you get the go ahead, I will place my ads back in the same way. My placement was EXACTLY the same as yours and I was told "No". Good luck =)

Exactly? You have a tutorial site too? :P

I was told that the placement was against their policy so they will be removed soon, unfortunately.
