    Best news script?

I currently use NewsPro, but speeds are slowing as I have alot of information. What is the best PHP/MySQL news script that has a good archiving system and a fast search feature. I don't need a comment system or anything. I'd prefer it to be as similar to NewsPro as possible.

Looks interesting. I downloaded, but couldn't install when I found no instruction or readme. Where can I find out how to get it working?

Just load everything to the server.
Add news fr the admin.php page
and news will appear at the index.php page.
Configure the layout to your own preference(by working on the HTML)

    No instruction for this script.

I've got prob too, at first.
    Good Luck

    Hi,

I think http://www.blogger.com could also be a good option. I know you asked for a PHP/MySQL but I find that it saves a lot of setup time and as it creates html files a search scipt could easily added. Again you could use a remotly hosted option such as www.atomz.com for a quick setup.

Don't know about Cold Fusion, but I found the MySQL on I'll be using. It's called Rose and is at http://www.jinxm.co.uk/scripts.php3 . Very similar to NewsPro, easy to customize and is fast. Although it's still in early development and the archive feature is missing, but I can live with that for now.

Blogger is at least ten times slower than Newspro and you can't host it on your site.

go to http://www.noahgrey.com/greysoft/ and look at the forums. There's a guy working on a php/mysql version of Greymatter, which is a Perl weblog script which can be easily customised into a straight news utility
