Mac, Apache, Mysql, PHP & Kevin Yanks book!

Hi there,

I think I posted this originally in the wrong place.

As a Mysql/php novice I`m struggling to progress with Kevin Yanks book as I can`t proceed with any MYSQL commands in the Mac terminal window.

I`m running on localhost and I suspect that the MYSQL path in Kevins book page 32 ( mysql -h hostname -u username -p) is different to mine as I`m using MAMP.

I can connect to MYSQL via php files in my /library/webserver/documents/ folder, but I`m confused by the terminal window path/commands.

Any suggestions out there?

I'm not sure if MySQL is installed by default with 10.4. I know it does come with 10.4 server. I always grab the latest version from straight from the source (mysql.com) or from Marc Lyniage's site (entropy.ch). The latter always has good installation instructions.
